Gerald McKevitt, S.J.

Professor McKevitt has served on KFF’s board of directors since 2002 and currently serves on its Education and Human Energy Committes. During the last fifteen years, he has served on several boards and has occupied many key positions including the Board of Trustees, Santa Clara University; the Board of Trustees, Gonzaga University; Member, National Seminar on Jesuit Higher Education; Rector, Jesuit Community at Santa Clara; Chair, History Department, Santa Clara University; and Division Director, History and Social Science Division at Santa Clara University.

Professor McKevitt holds a Ph.D degree from University of California, Los Angeles, an MA degree from the University of Southern California and a BA degree from the University of San Francisco.

Professor McKevitt has authored many publications including Serving the Intellect, Touching the Heart: A Portrait of Santa Clara University, 1851-2001, with George F. Giacomini, Jr. (Santa Clara University, 2000). His studies have included the history of the missions in the West and Indian Americans.
