This introduction describes the 3D Heritage Archive Network (CyArk) pilot project undertaken by KFF.


The aims of the CyArk Pilot Project are:

  1. To prove the concept, viability and feasibility of a new type of digital archive based on the web, and using new very high detail and accuracy 3D survey data.

  2. To determine the feasibility of raising significant funds to allow the financing of the worldwide archival sites and the collection of new field survey data of endangered worldwide heritage sites.

  3. To test the viability of forming a worldwide collaboration with governmental agencies, major institutions, and other interested parties to facilitate this major undertaking.
