Nucleus Group & Partners

Nucleus Group

KFF intends to form a Nucleus Group to assist in managing the CyArk pilot project and to help take the pilot to worldwide implementation. Members of the Nucleus Group will be selected from among KFF’s current and future partners who are or will be participating in the CyArk pilot project. It is intended that the Nucleus Group will serve as the initial International Steering Organization (ISO) and act as CyArk’s initial Board of Directors. The Nucleus group will be expanded to include invited academic and professional organizations, enterprises involved in the manufacture and dissemination of the new survey technology, and others who share in common KFF’s vision for heritage preservation.

The criteria for selecting partners will be based on several factors including the partner's willingness to make available or facilitate the acquisition of content of significant heritage projects; making available specialized hardware and software to facilitate field data acquisition; hosting an archival server; and agreeing to comply with CyArk’s standards and archival data requirements.

The benefits to the partners, in addition to participating in an exciting humanitarian effort, include playing a lead role in the CyArk organization; receiving assistance with the creation of technology centers at their facilities; and assistance with grants from KFF for significant new projects executed prior to the availability of a CyArk fund.
